One of the great features of Rondo Music is that Kurt offers guitars that are not available anywhere else or would require an expensive custom build. The Agile AL-3200MCC 828 MN HSB EMG-X is a great example here as there are no other LP style 8 strings out there that I can find. In keeping with the Agile AL-3200 series (I have a couple of AL-3200 6 strings) the quality of the build and finish is exceptional and easily rivals the high $ regular guitars with well-known names. You can judge the quality of the finish by the evenness of the stain, binding and junction between binding and the body/neck. There are no spillovers, uneven stain areas, the finish is satin smooth and all lines are crisp without imperfections. This version (HSB) is the honeysuckle blonde and the color just pops ! One of the real differentiators for the AL-3200 series is the through neck - this is so comfortable for the fretting hand unlike the standard LP set-neck with the block at the higher frets due to the set neck. The maple neck of the 8 string is visually striking and comfortable, in fact the action of the guitar as received was impressively low and required no adjustment. The EMG pickups are beefy and provide a good output across all the 8 strings. If you are an LP person and wish to explore the extended range of an 8 string then this guitar is highly recommended.
