I received my new, black Ursa 2 six string bass (maple fretboard) about three hours ago. I have been over it with a fine-tooth comb, and am amazed at both the quality and the setup straight from the box. I have always had to "fix" something on new MIM Fender instruments (adjusting action, intonation, neck alignment, etc.) but not on this bass. A quick tuning, and I've been playing it for the last two hours. I had anticipated changing the pickups and possibly adding an active preamp, but honestly, there's no need for anything to be done to it. From the fretwork to the finish to the tone, it's good to go. BTW, the low B rings like a PIANO! Even the stock strings (always the first thing to be changed on inexpensive instruments) are good enough for now. Once again, Rondo Music proves you don't have to have family in the music store business to get a great deal on quality equipment. Many, many thanks!
