Bought this for my 11yr old son after he struggled to use my bass. The bass is really good. The neck is straight and frets are well dressed. This is my 2nd SX instrument. They are very well made. Expect to pay at least double for something comparable from a music store. The amp is useful to practice with in a bedroom. I would have paid $120 for bass alone and been happy. So, consider the amp a free gift. By Joe P

This is a very well made and good sounding bass. Perfect for learning how to play the bass. This came with everything to get you started including a tuner By W. Bailey (Northern California)

My Daughter went from Cello to Bass Guitar this year. She needed something to learn on as an 11 year old. This is ideal size wise and has a good enough sound as far as we can tell. Easy to use and play along with a usable amp and good Instructions via DVD. She is very happy and will be a great starter for her. Very good value for money By Mikee

I had started our own 2 children on a JR bass 8 years ago. Was so happy to find this one with an amp, case, strap, and tuner for our grandchildren who are getting big enough to start playing. The guitar is surprising to me in that it is made so well and sounds quite good. The little amp is a blessing that I know is going to provide years of playing, learning, and praising the Lord for the kids for years to come.By Julie

Question: How does the Ursa 1 compare to the Ursa 2?
Answer: The Ursa 1 is of the more traditional style with a split-type passive pick-up. Musicians who like the old style rock and roll generally prefer this. Ursa 2 has two passive pick-ups. This allows for more precise control of tones, and it produces a cleaner sound. The Ursa 2 also has a thinner neck which means you can play even faster.

Question: How does the full size model compare to the JR short scale model?
Answer: The JR short scale model is considered a 3/4 size bass. It is about 4" shorter and more than an inch more narrow than a full size bass. The short scale model is excellent for a person who is between 4'2" and 4'10", or for a larger person who just wants a smaller instrument (for perhaps when one travels). Adults with back issues also really like the short scale bass, as it is light weight.

Question: I received my bass and there is some fret buzz. What do I do?
Answer: Your bass was set up and buzz free when it was shipped. However the neck may have moved during shipment. This video should help: Set Up Tips. (The video is not made with an Ursa model, however the same principles apply in setting up your instrument.)

Question: How much does the bass guitar weigh?
    Answer: Only 8 pounds!

Question: "The included DVD player will not play on my Mac or PC"
Answer: Yes that's correct. The DVD is designed to play on (USA/Canada Region 1) DVD players only. However you can download a driver so the DVD will play on your Mac or PC from the VLC Media Player Site

Question: What is your return policy for this item?
Answer: See our detailed policy by clicking on "Return Policy" on the right side of the home page.
